King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Announce Homecoming 2025 Tour
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced a run of east-coast Australian shows, which will mark their first shows locally in over a year and their first tour since March 2023. It comes in support of their forthcoming 27th studio album Phantom Island, which is set for release next month via the band’s own p(doom) records. The full list of tour dates and ticketing information can be found below.
“Australia, we’re finally coming home!” the band wrote in a statement shared to their social media. “It’s been too long, and we’re insanely jacked to be back. We’ll be rockin’ shit old school, and if you’re more of a Mozart freak? We got that too.” Indeed, the Phantom Island tour will be a blend of traditional King Gizzard shows along with a selection of orchestral dates where the band will play with the symphony orchestra of each respective city/state, as well as with conductor Chad Kelly.

The band’s orchestral shows in Sydney and Brisbane will feature no support, but their “rock” shows will feature Sydney duo Party Dozen opening up proceedings. In Melbourne, the orchestral show will be opened up by Folk Bitch Trio, who recently announced their debut album Now Would Be A Good Time, while their non-orchestral date will feature Malyangapa/Barkindji rapper Barkaa as support.
The band’s last two Australian shows to date were festivals: Play On The Plains in Deniliquin last March, and the final Splendour In The Grass to date eight months beforehand in July 2023. Since they last performed locally, they have released the album Flight b741, which peaked at number 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart upon release and was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2024 ARIAs.
