Alison Wonderland Announces New Album ‘Ghost World’

Alison Wonderland has formally detailed her fourth studio album, entitled Ghost World. The follow-up to 2022’s Loner is set for release on Friday, October 3rd via Universal Music Australia. The album will include her two previously-released singles from earlier in the year – ‘Get Started’ from April, and ‘Again? Fuck’ from June – as well as a third newly-released one, ‘iwannaliveinadream’. That, along with pre-order details for Ghost World, can be found below.

In a press statement, Wonderland described the sound of ‘iwannaliveinadream’ as “psychedelic future bass”. “[This song is] all about trying to escape reality for a small amount of time, because right now the real world feels too noisy, “she said. “This song sounds nostalgic and dreamy.” Its accompanying music video was shot on location in New Zealand by director Connor Pritchard.

Wonderland largely co-wrote and co-produced Ghost World with Dylan Ragland, better known as American DJ and producer Party Favor. In a press statement, she explained that she and Ragland intended to forge their own universe of sorts within the album’s 14 tracks. “I often feel like I’m wandering this earth trying to find my home, both artistically and personally,” she said.

“Sometimes, it feels like the search will never end. I want people to know that while you’re on that search, there is place of refuge here for you, with us, in Ghost World. I am forever grateful for the people who listen to my music and allow me to continue to create, to exorcize complicated feelings and emotions through my art – and yes, my ego death. I am only here because you are.”
