The Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash has reached full capacity, with close to 15,000 people set to attend.

The milestone makes it the largest ticketed music festival ever held in remote Australia.

The three-day camping festival runs from August 21–23rd on Belmont Station, 9km north of Silverton and 35km from Broken Hill in far-west New South Wales. Now in its fourth year, the festival has grown into a major outback music event.

Festival Director Greg Donovan, who also runs the Birdsville Big Red Bash, credits the success to a mix of Australian music, natural beauty, and outback character. “We’re officially at full capacity, with nearly 15,000 people ready to rock the Outback later this week,” he said.

The 2025 lineup features Australian artists across generations. Headliners include Missy Higgins, Hoodoo Gurus, The Cat Empire, Birds of Tokyo, The Angels, Kasey Chambers, Kate Ceberano, and Leo Sayer. Supporting acts include Chocolate Starfish, Brad Cox, Rose Tattoo, Ross Wilson, Shannon Noll, Pierce Brothers, Thirsty Merc, Dragon, Mi-Sex, and more. Special shows include Ziggy – 50 Years of David Bowie starring Iota, alongside Jeff Duff, Steve Balbi, and Bryden Stace. Local performers such as Leroy Johnson, the Waterbag Bag Band, and Tha Boiz also feature.

The festival offers more than music, with attractions like the Nutbush City Limits dance-off, the Mundi Undie Run supporting the Royal Flying Doctors Service, morning yoga, camel and helicopter rides, dunny door painting, and outdoor cinema screenings. This year’s event celebrates its Mad Max heritage with themed activities referencing Furiosa, filmed on site. Donovan said, “The incredible landscape is the real headliner. Combine that with Aussie artists and camping under the stars, and that’s where the magic happens.”

Mundi Mundi Bash remains family-friendly and welcomes all ages, including dogs. The event operates as BYO, attracting families, retirees, grey nomads, and road-trippers.
