Umphrey’s McGee are having a historic year. After parting ways with their longtime drummer Kris Myers in May, the pioneering prog ensemble formally welcomed touring stand-in Scotty Zwang on as their new permanent backbeat last week. On September 12, they’ll release Blueprints, their long-awaited 15th studio album and first since 2022’s Asking for a Friend. All told, UM have cause for celebration, and today they’ve unveiled plans to do just that with a New Year’s Eve run.

To cap off a packed 2025, Umphrey’s McGee will return to Atlanta’s beloved indie haven The Tabernacle for two shows on December 30 and 31. The quintet’s holiday series will mark their first shows at the venue since 2018 and continue a history with the space dating back to 2005. The year-end shows will also host guest spots from Mad Dog’s Filthy Little Secret Horns featuring Jeff Coffin, whose annual sit-ins have been a highlight of UM’s live calendar since their origins.

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve series are available for UMVIP presale now, with a general on-sale to follow on Friday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m. ET. Before heading down to the Peach State in December, Umphrey’s McGee will present 23 further engagements across the country, including two mini-residencies in Indianapolis and Brooklyn, N.Y., and a special album release show at Chicago’s intimate new Garcia’s venue.
