New World Artists Sign Purple Disturbance to Agency Roster (EXCLUSIVE)

Purple Disturbance will make a racket on the road through a new deal with New World Artists.

Hailing from Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, the post-punk four-piece is the latest signing to New World Artists’ agency roster, The Music Network can exclusively reveal.

Led by Thomas Downes (vocals), alongside Jed Freudenstein (guitar), Joshua Downes (bass) and Jessica Franklin (drums), Purple Disturbance are “fresh out of high school but road-tested and ready,” reads a statement from their new agency.

They’re also bursting with a badass punk spirit that’s infectious.

Since its release earlier this month, new single “Criticise, Penalise, Attack and Slam” (via Anti Dismal Records) has been added to over 52 Spotify playlists, reps say. Also, two Purple Disturbance tracks are hanging ten on the soundtrack for Dunno, a surf film by Rip Curl.

“We proudly welcome the raw, uncompromised and youthful energy of Purple Disturbance to our roster. As a band they embody the true spirit of punk – D.I.Y., unapologetic and ready to ignite the music scene and the touring circuit,” reads a statement from New World Artists.

“This band is bringing both the fire and the fury of punk back to the forefront and there’s never been a more appropriate time. We’re excited to be a part of their trajectory.”

Music fans around the country can familiarise themselves with that explosive energy when Purple Disturbance embark on a tour this September with British India, You Am I, The Screaming Jets and Grinspoon.

Founded in 2006 and boasting offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, New World Artists’ roster includes Allday, Anna Lunoe, Diesel, Grinspoon, Mallrat, British India, Sneaky Sound System, Spiderbait, and more.
