LCD Soundsystem Announce 2025 New York Residency

LCD Soundsystem have announced the 2025 edition of their annual NYC residency. From Nov. 20 to Dec. 13, James Murphy and the pioneering electronica octet will deliver 12 shows at Queens, N.Y.’s Knockdown Center, distributed across three weekend frames. 

This year’s residency will mark the band’s fifth extended series in their home city since 2021 and their second at the Bowery Presents-operated local favorite venue. On top of the 12 concerts–expanded last year from eight–the event will feature nightly afterparties with special guest DJ sets, a DFA Records swap meet and an on-site outpost of the Four Horsemen wine bar, which Murphy co-owns. Nightly openers will be announced as the series approaches.

LCD Soundsystem’s 2025 homecoming arrives at the end of a packed year. After embarking from a headline set at Phoenix’s M3F Festival, the group tore through a spring tour across the country with Nation of Language, a June residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, a summer tour of the Midwest and Northwest with TV On The Radio, high billings at Primavera Sound Barcelona and Paris’ We Love Green and more. They’ll remain on the road through the end of September with sets at Asbury Park, N.J.’s Sea.Hear.Now Festival tomorrow, Sept. 13, San Francisco’s Portola Festival on Sept. 20, and two stagings at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl with Pulp on Sept. 25 and 26. 

In October 2024, LCD Soundsystem heralded a new chapter with the premiere of “X-Ray Eyes” on NTS Radio, a techy, minimal production with a proto-Detroit backbeat that arrived as its first single since the full-throttle dance-punk of 2022’s “New Body Rhumba.” Shortly after, Primavera Sound mistakenly detailed that LCD’s set would present a long-awaited new album, encouraging an optimistic explanatory statement from Murphy. “It’s the first single of what’s shaping up to be a new album,” the frontman said of the new song and circulating rumors. “Don’t ask me when that is, because we’re still working on it. But it feels very good to be putting out new music.”
