New Trailer for Bruce Springsteen Biopic ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ Released During Emmy Awards

A new trailer for Deliver Me From Nowhere, the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic starring Jeremy Allen White, has arrived. Premiered during the Emmy Awards broadcast, the film’s second look shifts from the musical focus of the first to center on White’s portrayal of Springsteen, and his relationship with his longtime manager Jon Landau, portrayed by Jeremy Strong. The intense scenes are soundtracked by Springsteen’s “Atlantic City.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere captures the production of Springsteen’s 1982 sixth studio album Nebraska, delving into the turmoil and revelation that charged his legendary record. The film’s first trailer gave a glimpse into the throes of personal and artistic growth that spurred Springsteen’s unguarded storytelling and his decision to prioritize intimacy in its recording. “Don’t need to be perfect,” White, as Springsteen, said in the trailer. “I want it to feel like I’m in the room by myself.”
The film’s latest preview takes a wider view. Outside the scope of his legendary solo sessions, the second trailer shows Springsteen as an artist contending with the pressures of success. His unorthodox vision for his follow-up to the bold, energetic heartland rock of 1980’s The River is championed by Strong’s Landau, who tells Columbia Records executive Al Teller (David Krumholtz), “He’s channeling something deeply personal. But in this office, my office, we believe in Bruce Springsteen.”
“Nebraska is where Bruce chose truth over expectation—a choice that still reverberates through everything he’s written since,” director Scott Cooper said in a release. “At that crossroads, he could have chased the bright lights and the roar of arenas, but instead he turned inward, armed only with silence, a four-track recorder, and the courage to confront himself. For him to trust me with telling that story—the most vulnerable chapter of his life—is the greatest honor I’ve ever had as a filmmaker.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere is written and directed by Cooper (Crazy Heart, Black Mass) and adapted from Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name. Other starring cast members include Marc Maron as producer Chuck Plotkin; Jersey Boys breakout Johnny Cannizzaro as Steven Van Zandt; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mother; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; and Odessa Young as Faye, Springsteen’s love interest. Veteran producer Dave Cobb is helming the soundtrack, and Springsteen and Landau have both been closely involved with film.
Deliver Me From Nowhere will arrive in theaters on Oct. 24. While his biopic approaches, Springsteen is keeping busy as ever with new releases. Two weeks ago, the artist responded to long-standing rumors by formally unveiling Electric Nebraska, part of the upcoming Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition. Set to release on Oct. 17, Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition is a five-disc retrospective on Springsteen’s groundbreaking album featuring unheard artefacts of the mythicized era alongside new recordings. To preview the project, he shared a roaring early version of “Born in the U.S.A.,” drawn from the long-lost full-band session at New York’s Power Station and featuring a stripped-down trio of Springsteen, Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent.
