Bad Bunny has been officially named the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show performer for 2026. He’ll take the stage during the 60th Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California next year.

The decision to feature Bad Bunny as this year’s halftime act followed significant recent achievements in his music career. He just concluded his recording-breaking residency in Puerto Rico on September 21, ending a 30-night run with his “No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí” shows at San Juan’s El Choli arena. These performances not only set attendance records, but also honored the release of his sixth studio album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos (2025).

The album released on January 5 and was Bad Bunny’s love letter to Puerto Rico, cementing his contribution to Latin music and culture. The Super Bowl halftime show is produced by Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation. This selection is widely viewed as the NFL’s embrace of global pop megastars and the growing influence of Latin music across the United States and beyond.

The record-breaking “No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí” run at San Juan’s iconic El Choli arena brought major attention to Puerto Rico’s vibrant music scene and led to an influx of tourism as fans traveled from across the globe to attend the shows.

Local businesses, from hotels to restaurants, saw increased traffic and revenue during the month-long series of concerts. The residency celebrated Puerto Rico’s unique identity, with Bad Bunny’s performances serving as a tribute to the island and its people, reinforcing community pride and showcasing Puerto Rican talent on a world stage.

Bad Bunny will follow one of the most successful Super Bowl halftime performances ever. Kendrick Lamar served up the Super Bowl LIV performance in New Orleans, setting new watch records in the process. He performed a set that included his top hits and surprise appearances from SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, and Serena Williams. K. Dot also performed his critically acclaimed diss track “Not Like Us,” though the lyrics were altered to avoid calling Drake a pedophile for that performance.
