Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers Welcome Members of Eggy on “My Resolve” in Virginia

Previously, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers announced a short series of concerts with special guest, Eggy. During the first of their five-night run, which took place at the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, Va., the headliner brought out some members of the opening act to sit in during the Grateful Dead’s early 90s collaborator, 2020 collaboration with The Shins’ James Mercer, “My Resolve.” 

Hornsby and his band started the show with the Non-Secure Connection cut, “Bright Star Cast,” before bringing out select members of Eggy to contribute to the next song. For the collaborative delivery, Alex Bailey and Mike Goodman provided background vocals and accompanied their host with another feature from his 2020 album, adding depth to “My Resolve.” 

Members of Eggy weren’t the only guests; Hornsby’s previous collaborator, trumpeter John D’earth, and sax player Bobby Reed, added to “Sneaking Up on Boo Radley” and “The Tango King.” The night also found Hornsby on Dulcimer, adding the instrument to “The Way It Is,” “The Valley Road,” and “Over the Rise.” 

After an evening away from the stage, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers, with special guests Eggy, will take their talents to the newly restored Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, N.Y., for the first of two nights on the historic stage, beginning tonight, September 29. They’ll continue to Washington, D.C., on October 2, after turning in their second night at Bearsville, on September 30. 

Ultimately, the run will culminate in a close performance at Higher Ground in South Burlington, Vt., on October 4. For tickets and additional information, visit www.brucehornsby.com/tour.
