Cheeky Leash Drop New Single ‘Change’ Ahead Of Huge National Tour
Wollongong’s finest indie mischief-makers Cheeky Leash are riding a serious wave right now. Fresh off breakout showcases at BIGSOUND, the four-piece have returned with their sharpest track yet, ‘Change’, and announced a huge national run of dates to close out 2025.
The new single leans into themes of human connection, resilience, and growth in a world that feels like it’s constantly crumbling under the cost-of-living crisis. It’s heartfelt without being heavy-handed, packing melodic riffs, big choruses and the kind of earnest, coming-of-age energy that’s quickly becoming the band’s trademark.
CHEEKY LEASH – ‘Change’
“It’s about ego getting the best of us and forgetting how important the people around us are,” the band explain about the fresh track. “We wanted this one to reflect both personal and musical growth – it’s as much about us evolving as a band as it is about the world around us.”
The song arrives alongside a cinematic video shot along Gerroa’s windswept coastline, directed by Brendan Palmer and filmed by Film For Frank. It’s a more serious visual for the band, stepping away from their usual playful antics to deliver something deeper.
Fans can catch Cheeky Leash bringing ‘Change’ and plenty more to stages around the country this Spring/Summer, with headline shows, festival slots and support appearances locked in from October through December.
