Anthem Music Publishing has acquired the catalog of songwriter and producer Mark Holman, including several works recorded by Morgan Wallen.
Anthem Publishing – not the overarching Anthem Entertainment, to which multiple IP plays were previously attached – just recently confirmed the investment. As described by the purchaser, the deal encompasses “an extensive catalog from” Illinois-born and Nashville-based Mark Holman.
Beyond this top-level detail, however, Anthem opted against publicly disclosing the transaction’s price tag or the precise number of involved works. DMN reached out for additional information, but a rep only reiterated the inclusion of a “selection of songs” as opposed to Holman’s whole catalog.
Keeping the focus on what we do know, Holman – who in June 2021 inked a co-publishing agreement with Big Loud and Warner Chappell; a July 2025 extension announcement swapped the latter publisher for ERN’s Cadillac Music – has penned tracks popularized by Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, Hardy, Jordan Davis (who’s likewise partnered with Anthem), Trace Adkins, Post Malone, and Florida Georgia Line.
Anthem also confirmed the play’s encompassing “three standout tracks” penned by Holman and featured on the mentioned Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album: “Neon Eyes,” “Me on Whiskey,” and “Whatcha Think of Country Now.”
“I’ve had the pleasure of working directly with Mark in the past,” added Anthem Publishing Nashville creative VP Noah Dewey, “so this feels like a full circle moment with a good friend. His undeniable talent shows through in every song in this catalog. Anthem is honored to be trusted with this outstanding body of work.”
And in remarks of his own, Holman touted Anthem as “a champion for music and songwriters.”
“I’m really excited these songs have found a home and I’m very grateful to Noah and the Anthem team,” Holman said. “Anthem has always been a champion for music and songwriters and Noah is one of the best to do it.”
In the bigger catalog picture, country isn’t the sole focus for Anthem, which has an interest in Timbaland’s work and took a stake in Darell’s IP 11 months ago. But the Toronto-headquartered company is certainly bolstering its reach in the genre, including with deals for the song rights of Beth and Luke Laird, Matt Alderman, Marty Robbins, and now Holman.
