My Morning Jacket rolled into Portland, Maine, last night for another stop on the final leg of their 2025 is Tour. The first week of the honored roots-rock outfit’s Northeast leg brought electric performances to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Boston, and the group’s Northernmost staging continued the wild ride with more of the setlist surprises that have distinguished the latest string of dates from the broader tour that’s kept them busy since the beginning of the year.

My Morning Jacket set off their engagement at Portland’s State Theatre last night with “The Dark,” pulled from their 1999 debut album The Tennessee Fire, then proceeded into “Lay Low” and “X-Mas Curtain.” The ensuing set cycled through fan-favorites from throughout the band’s two-and-a-half decade run, with a meticulously sculpted sequence that touched on entries from all ten of their studio albums. Some standouts within the 20-song mix were a powerful rendition of “Off the Record,” three is cuts in the main set – ”Everyday Magic,” “Die For It,” “Run It,” “Squid Ink” and “Dancefloors” – and both parts of the Evil Urges odyssey “Touch Me I’m Going to Scream,” which built momentum into the band’s first treatment of The Waterfall’s “Get the Point” since 2018 at the show’s midpoint.

“Get The Point” followed several track resurrections at the past few shows, including “Chills” (first since 2010), John Prine’s “All the Best” (first since 2013), “Big Decisions” (first since 2019) and “Hillside Song” (first since 2015), as well as the first-ever live treatment of the It Still Moves B-side “En La Ceremony.”

My Morning Jacket will take the stage next with three nights at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Brooklyn Paramount from Oct. 16-18. Each show will feature an opening set from special guest BALTHVS, and the first will be a special Z 20th anniversary show, featuring a full-tracklist performance of the breakthrough album, followed by a second set of other essentials.
