Brooklyn Bowl to Host Bob Weir Celebration on Tuesday
New York’s Brooklyn Bowl will stage a Bob Weir celebration this coming Tuesday, January 13. The evening will be hosted by the area Grateful Dead tribute project Bushwick’s Dead and feature a mix of special guests. The show is free with RSVP.
Weir performed at the original Brooklyn Bowl several times since the venue opened in 2009. His first official appearance at the club took place in September 2009 when he brought his Scaring the Children project, featuring original RatDog members Rob Wasserman and Jay Lane, to the venue for an underplay and he returned with the full RatDog line-up to serve as the house band for HeadCount’s 10th anniversary event at Brooklyn Bowl in 2014. He also sat in a few times, including with Umphrey’s McGee in 2011 and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead in 2023 as part of the latter band’s 10th anniversary celebration. Weir also took party in a private event at the Bowl in 2023 where he performed with Dave Matthews and Warren Haynes.
