Mike Gordon and Jazz Mandolin Project Featuring Jon Fishman Add Dates

Between Phish’s upcoming trips to Mexico and Las Vegas, several members of the Vermont Quartet will hit the road with their side-projects. That includes bassist Mike Gordon, who will tour with a slightly reworked version of his solo band, and drummer Jon Fishman, who will regroup for his most extensive run with Jazz Mandolin Project in over 20 years.

Gordon’s outing will kick off at Woodstock, NY’s Bearsville Theater on March 13. For his run, Gordon will be joined by regular collaborators John Kimock and Robert Walter, as well as two musicians who joined the combo in 2025, Xavier Lynn and Bob Wagner. Dopapod’s Eli Winderman will sub in for Walter on keys for a few days mid-tour and then play alongside Walteron keys for the run’s final swing. After selling out their hometown show at South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground on March 29, Gordon has confirmed a second Higher Ground show on March 30,

Likewise, Jazz Mandolin Project have confirmed an extra concert following a sold-out gig. As previously reported, JMP, which is led by Phish’s old Vermont pal Jamie Masefield mandolin, will play a few winter shows following a reunion memorial gig at Burlington, VT’s Nectar’s last year. For this upcoming run, Jazz Mandolin Project’s lineup will also feature bassist Danton Boller and trumpeter Michael “Mad Dog” Mavridoglou, both of whom have deep roots with the group. After the band’s February 7 stop at Kingston, NY’s Assembly sold out, the quartet have added a 3pm matinee performance on the same date. JMP has not toured extensively in decades and Mansfield and Fishman had not performed under that name together since 2010 before last year, though they had shared the stage in over formats.
