New Etsy report shows trending interest in punk and alternative fashion

Punk and grunge fashion trends began making a comeback this year. If the recent past is any indication, they are likely to continue influencing the fashion world in 2022.

According to a report published by Etsy, many alternative fashion staples have seen a huge increase in searches compared to 2020.

Etsy took into account the searches made by its 96 million buyers and specifically looked at keywords that have increased significantly in the months of September, October and November of 2021.

The report states that there were many jumps in searches for alternative items on their platform. There also was an 879% increase for spiked collars, 34% increase for studded belts, 48% increase for vintage plaid clothing, 21% increase for leather jackets and 37% increase for fishnets.

If the report is any indication, punk, alternative and grunge fashion trends will be huge in 2022.
