Here are the Nominees for the 2023 J Awards
Triple j has announced the full list of nominees for its 2023 J Awards, with winners to be announced on Monday, 13th November. The J Awards are divided up into a number of categories, including Australian Album of the Year, Unearthed Artist of the Year, Double J Australian Artist Of The Year, and Music Video of the Year. Nominees include Angie McMahon, Briggs, Kylie Minogue and more.
In 2023, for the first time, the J Awards have added a category for Best Live Act of the Year, a way of celebrating Australia’s live music scene as it goes from strength to strength in our post-covid world.
Angie McMahon – ‘Serotonin’
A number of Australian music heavyweights are vying for the Album Of the Year. McMahon’s Light, Dark, Light Again has been nominated, along with G Flip’s DRUMMER, Genesis Owusu’s STRUGGLER, Gretta Ray’s Positive Spin, Holy Holy’s Cellophane, Lastlings‘ Perfect World, Matt Corby’s Everything’s Fine, Polaris‘ Fatalism, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers‘ I Love You and Troye Sivan’s Something To Give Each Other.
There’s a range of different styles and sounds to be found in the Double J Artist of the Year nominees, which spans RVG (who released the best record of their career, this year), Yorta Yorta rapper Briggs and Our Kylie.
