The Kid Laroi will follow in the footsteps of AC/DC and Sia early next year when he embarks on his first-ever stadium tour on home soil.
Presented by TEG Live, Laroi’s The First Time Tour kicks off Down Under with a concert Feb. 2, 2024 at AAMI Park in Melbourne, before heading west for a show at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Feb. 5, the day before Waitangi Day, New Zealand’s national day.
Then, the 20-year-old heads home for open-air shows in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and the Gold Coast, about 50 miles south of Brisbane.
Raised in inner-city Sydney, now based in Los Angeles, the Kid enjoys an upgrade from his homecoming headline tour of May and June 2022, when the singer, songwriter and rapper played arenas across Australia. That End of the World Tour was produced by Handsome Tours and TEG Live.
“I’m so excited to be coming back home in February,” Laroi comments in a statement. “I felt so much love from the fans on last year’s tour – it’s something I’ll never forget. I can’t wait for you to all see this new show – we’ve taken things to a whole new level. I love you and I’ll see you all really soon.”
Announced Tuesday (Nov. 14), The First Time Tour will support Laroi’s debut full-length LP of the same name, which dropped last Friday, Nov. 10 through Columbia/Sony Music.
Despite his tender years, the Kid busted records around globe on the way to the top. His debut mixtape F*ck Love from 2020 went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 a full year after its release. Aged 17 at the time Laroi (born Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard) was the first solo male Australian to hit the top since Keith Urban, when his Fuse debuted at No. 1 on the Sept. 28, 2013, chart. When F*ck Love (Savage) ruled over the ARIA Albums Chart in February, 2021, the Kid was anointed as the youngest Australian solo artist to do so, at 17 years, 5 months and 22 days.
The Gadigal-born artist with Kamilaroi roots has won a string of APRA Awards, including the coveted song of the year for his Justin Bieber collaboration from 2021 “Stay,” which led the Billboard Hot 100 and ended the year as the No. 2 digital single worldwide, according to the IFPI. Along the way, he’s built a collection of awards includes ARIAs and NIMAs, several Billboard Music Awards and a Grammy Award nomination for best newcomer.
Tickets for the Australian tour go on sale next Monday, Nov. 20.
