Futurebirds Announce Live Album ‘…Thanks Y’all,’ Share Lead Single “Rodeo”

Futurebirds are gearing up to unleash a sonic storm with the release of their 22-track live compilation, …Thanks Y’all, slated to hit the airwaves on Dec. 1 via No Coincidence Records. The announcement is accompanied by the adrenaline-pumping release of the lead single, “Rodeo,” which is now streaming across platforms. Additionally, …Thanks Y’all will also make its mark in the analog realm as a 3-LP vinyl set on Feb. 9, 2024.

Hailing from Athens, Ga., the group has once again joined forces with acclaimed My Morning Jacket guitarist/producer Carl Broemel. This collaboration, known affectionately as the “Carlbirds,” has evolved seamlessly since their initial encounter, marking the release of the 2021 EP, Bloomin’, followed by the 2022 EP, Bloomin’ Too and wonderful live performances.

Recorded over a span of nine electrifying shows in February 2023, the live compilation captures the Carlbirds in their prime, showcasing the finest moments for posterity on …Thanks Y’all. The album immerses listeners in the raw, unbridled energy of a live concert as if standing front and center in the midst of the enthusiastic crowd.

Singer/guitarist Daniel Womack expressed their excitement in a press release, stating, “We’re long overdue for a live release and feel super lucky to have one of our mentors quarterbacking the project. Carl takes us to another level, and I think the stoke translates well in these versions.”

For the lead single, the band reinvents one of their crowd favorites, “Rodeo,” a track that has garnered over 17 million Spotify streams since its 2015 release. Womack reflects on the evolution of the song, saying, “The way we play this song has evolved over the years, and it rocks a lot harder these days, so we’re super stoked to get a live version out there.”

To celebrate the release, the Carlbirds will command the stage at the Georgia Theatre in their hometown of Athens on Dec. 5 and 6. This musical journey continues with a performance at Nashville, Tenn.’s Brooklyn Bowl on Dec. 8, followed by a New Year’s extravaganza featuring four shows at Charlotte’s Neighborhood Theatre on Dec. 28-29 and Charleston Music Hall on the 30 and 31.

Looking ahead to 2024, Futurebirds are set to crisscross the country, embarking on a full West Coast tour in February. The adventure continues with a southern sweep before venturing to the midwest in early March; see full dates below.
