Sweet Relief Musicians Fund to Pay Tribute to Ramblin’ Jack Elliott

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a non-profit founded by Victoria Williams that provides financial assistance and other support to career musicians and music industry professionals in need, will commence its 30th year with a series of live benefit shows. The first charitable concert will be a tribute to Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, slated for Jan. 28 at The Masonic in San Francisco. 

The troubadour of the American folk revivalist scene will take the stage for a rare live performance. Elliott will be joined by Jackson Browne, Rickie Lee Jones, Steve Earle, Nathaniel Rateliff, Victoria Williams, John Oates, Andy Hedges, Corb Lund, Dave Alvin, Joe Henry, John Oates, Jackie Greene, Maria Muldaur, Mike Beck, Rodney Crowell, Sarah Lee Guthrie, Peter Rowan, Todd Snider, and more special guests.

Don Was will serve as the night’s musical director, featuring a house band comprised of Jay Lane, Barry Sless, and Jason Crosby.  The night’s presentation is intended to boast each artist performing songs made famous by Elliott, paired with music from their own unique archives. 

“We are so excited to celebrate 30 years of Sweet Relief in 2024, and this is the perfect show to kick it all off,” offered Aric Steinberg, EVP Development & Artist Relations at Sweet Relief.  “Ramblin’ Jack is an absolute legend, and we’re thrilled to honor him and produce this special benefit show with all of these amazing artists.”

“The Masonic is a powerful and historic building,” Elliott said via a press release. Notably, the impending event will represent Elliott’s first time playing at the venue throughout his storied career. “I’m thrilled anyone would want to do this. We’ll all be together, and it will be wonderful.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 15, at 10 a.m. P.T. via  Ticketmaster.  Proceeds from the show will benefit Sweet Relief and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott.
