“My Only Angel,” the first taste of Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD’s forthcoming collaborative EP, blasts in at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart (dated Oct. 4). With the entrance, the legendary rock group earns its first No. 1 on the list, which began in 2020, while YUNGBLUD captures his second, after “Obey” ruled for a week in September 2020.
“My Only Angel” soars in atop the multimetric chart through a combination of 2 million official streams, 1.4 million radio audience impressions and 5,000 song sales in the United States in the Sept. 19-25 tracking week, according to Luminate.
The song previews Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD’s joint EP, One More Time, due Nov. 21. Among the five tracks is “Back in the Saddle (2025 Mix)”; Aerosmith’s original song by that title that reached No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977. One More Time marks Aerosmith’s first new material since its 2012 album, Music From Another Dimension!
Concurrently, “My Only Angel” debuts at No. 37 on Mainstream Rock Airplay as Aerosmith’s 45th appearance on the tally and first since “Lover Alot” in 2012. Dating to the radio chart’s launch in March 1981, the group has scored nine No. 1 hits among 24 top 10s. Prior to the new track, the band mined similar lyrical territory with “Angel” (No. 2, 1988) and “Angel’s Eye” (No. 4, 2000).
In addition to its chart-topping Hot Hard Rock Songs debut, “My Only Angel” begins at No. 20 on the Hot Rock Songs chart and No. 23 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, both of which follow the same multimetric methodology.
YUNGBLUD and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry performed together at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 7 as part of a tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne. Tyler and YUNGBLUD also played at Osbourne’s final concert in Birmingham, England, on July 5.
