Bernard Fanning Returns to ARIA Charts With ‘Tea & Sympathy’ Anniversary Album

Australian legend Bernard Fanning has returned to the pointy end of the ARIA charts with the 20th anniversary edition of his debut solo album, Tea & Sympathy.

The Powderfinger frontman’s record, which initially hit No. 1 upon its release in 2005, has returned to the Albums list to place at No. 7. It has also hit top spot on the Australian Albums, Vinyl and On Replay Albums charts.

Taylor Swift has made it five weeks on top of the Albums chart with The Life of a Showgirl, ahead of other debuts including Florence + The Machine’s sixth album, Everybody Scream, at No. 4, WA rockers Cloning with their debut effort Vitriol at No. 12, Victoria’s The Belair Lip Bombs at No. 25 with second LP, Again, and Brisbane nu-metal outfit Headwreck’s Attitude Adjustment at No. 43.

Over on the Singles chart, Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” has also remained at No. 1; the US superstar’s second longest running top song behind 2022’s “Anti-Hero” which spent six weeks on top.
