Bob Weir Joins Lukas Nelson and Friends at Rob Wasserman Tribute

Last night, Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater Music Hall hosted Music Heals International’s 8th Annual Concert to Benefit the Rob Wasserman Memorial Fund. The evening’s advertised lineup consisted of The MHI All-Stars, featuring area players Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Mookie Siegel, Elliott Peck, Paul Beaubrun, Steve Adams, Ezra Lipp, Jamie Clark and Grant Harrington.

However, as expected, a number of guest musicians joined in during the night, including Wasserman’s longtime collaborator and Sweetwater co-owner Bob Weir, Lukas Nelson and Tato Melgar, RatDog saxophonist Dave Ellis and DJ Logic. The Grateful Dead guitarist joined Nelson and Melgar for a few selections, including “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain,” “Before You Accuse Me” and “Loose Lucy.” He also took part in the evening’s all-star finale, which included “Standing on Shaky Groundm,” “The Weight” and “I Shall be Released.”
