A charity auction, hosted by Fandiem and benefiting the Divided Sky Foundation, has provided a one-of-a-kind opportunity for fans of Phish and the band’s lead guitarist, Trey Anastasio, to bid on an instrument played by the latter during the band’s October 27, 2024, soundcheck for their Albany benefit run.

The item at large is a 2011 Languedoc G2, handmade and personally donated by luthier Paul Languedoc. The guitar’s body was constructed out of Santos rosewood, adorned with a European curly maple top, one-piece neck, and featuring accents of cherry red binding–the only Languedoc axe to feature such.

The guitar has been kept at Languedoc’s shop since its construction, and has never had another owner, making the future proprietor the one and only. The auction winner will receive the instrument, along with a custom-fitted hard case, a framed printed photo of Anastasio playing the guitar, and assorted digital images and video delineating the connection.

According to the prize overview, “Whether you play this guitar or simply hang it on your wall, it is a true work of art — and the ultimate Phish collectible. Other Languedoc guitars have sold for more than $80,000. But this one is truly priceless, as it has been played and signed by Trey, and represents a commitment to community, charity and The Divided Sky Foundation.”

“The Divided Sky Foundation is dedicated to confronting addiction through its 46-bed Residential Recovery Program, located in a beautifully renovated facility in Ludlow, VT. Founded by Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio and managed by a compassionate team of experienced professionals, Divided Sky offers a supportive, education-focused approach rooted in the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous,” the charity description imparts.

“Emphasizing mindfulness and Emotional Sobriety, guests engage in group discussions, readings, lectures, and support meetings, while enjoying daily outdoor activities, music, and nourishing meals. It is a vibrant community where laughter, learning, and hope come together to inspire lasting recovery.”

The auction will officially close on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 11:59 p.m. PT, with a winner drawn on Friday, Jan. 9, at 8 a.m. PT.
