Cryptopsy Streaming New Official Video

Quebecois technical death metal band Cryptopsy has debuted its second official video from its ninth album, “An Insatiable Violence.” The video, titled “Malicious Needs” is streaming below. The concept for ‘An Insatiable Violence’ came to Cryptopsy’s vocalist Matt McGachy in a dream.

It’s an allegory for our toxic relationship with social media, which Matt has experienced firsthand with his Vox & Hops podcast. In the dream, a person spends all day building a machine, only for it to torture them all through the night. As if that wasn’t twisted enough, they like it. In fact, they like being tortured so much that, come morning, they wake up rejuvenated, eager to tweak the machine until it runs perfectly in their mind.
