In late November, Dark Star Orchestra vocalist and guitar player Rob Eaton announced that he would be taking time away from the group due to a health matter. He explained that he had been diagnosed with acute cardio peritonitis which prompted him to miss the final week of DSO’s fall tour. Tom Circosta and Mike Kennedy then appeared with the group in his stead.

Dark Star Orchestra fans will be hearted to know that when the band returns to the stage in Portland, ME on Monday, Eaton will be back onstage with the group. “I’m feeling like myself again,” Eaton announced. “There’s no better way to close out this year and kick off a new one than being back on stage with my brothers and sister, playing this music for the fans who mean everything to us. See you all out there.”

DSO’s five show New Year’s run begins at the State Theatre in Portland on December 29. The group then travels to Philadelphia for a show the next night at Franklin Music Hall. Finally, it’s on to Capitol Theatre in Port Chester for gigs on December 31, followed by an off-day, then performances on January 2 and 3.
