Dennis Chambers, George Porter, Jr., Adam Deitch, John Papa Gros and More to Honor Russell Batiste

On March 15, Baltimore, MD’s The 8×10 will host A Tribute to Russell Batiste. A number of the funky Meters drummer’s friends and fans will come together for the evening, which will be divided into two sets. The first set will feature George Porter Jr and his Runnin’ Pardners, as well as special guests Mark Mullins and Tracey Griffin. Then, the second set will consist of an all-star jam boasting Porter, Dennis Chambers (Santana/Parliament), Adam Deitch (Lettuce) John Papa Gros (Papa Grows Funk) and Cris Jacobs (The Bridge).
The evening will benefit The St Augustine Marching Band. Batiste, who passed away in October, played drums in the school’s famed marching band.
