Sean “Diddy” Combs has been teaching a class on entrepreneurship to his fellow inmates, who even baked him a cake for his birthday behind bars.

New federal prison documents shared with DMN offer some rare insight into Sean Combs’ life behind bars since his conviction on prostitution charges earlier this year. The documents reveal that Combs is teaching a six-week class to his fellow inmates.

The syllabus indicates the course is called Free Game with Diddy, which aims to help inmates hone business management and entrepreneurship skills they can take with them for their future on the outside. A work performance rating document from the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons features a handwritten note that reads, “Excellent class. Keep up the great work!!”

According to the syllabus, Free Game with Diddy includes lectures, lessons with discussions, and handouts. It is a six-week adult continuing education class.

“The purpose of Free Game with Diddy is to empower inspiring entrepreneurs and professionals by providing foundational knowledge in business management, entrepreneurship, and personal development,” the document outlines.

Discussion topics include confirmation bias contributing to the “polarizations of attitudes,” some of the dangers of “reasoning by analogy,” and how culture and history shape decision making in large-scale situations.

Meanwhile, Combs celebrated his 56th birthday this week, and inmates reportedly baked him a cake using ingredients from the prison commissary, along with a side of applesauce. A publicist for Combs confirmed that he also spoke with his children and mother on his birthday.

Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, in violation of the Mann Act. He is now serving out his sentence at Fort Dix Federal Prison in New Jersey and is scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028. However, he could be released sooner for good behavior or upon completion of certain programs to lessen his sentence.
