Disco Biscuits Kick Off 30th Anniversary Tour in Atlanta, Offer First “Vassillios” Encore Since 2009

Last night, Wednesday, June 4, Disco Biscuits commenced their 30th anniversary tour at Terminal West in Atlanta. During the midweek performance, the band packed their two-set gig with a career-spanning assortment of songs fleshed out with their signature electronic flair, showcasing what three decades of interplay sound and feel like.

The band’s arrival in the Peach State brought select bust-outs and rare placements amid heavy improvisations from the jump, subsequently the first “World Is Spinning” since the troupe’s September 17, 2021, performance in St. Augustine, Fla. Last night’s arrival of The Wind at Four to Fly cut ended a 247-show gap.

Following the completion of the night’s first number, Bisco shifted into a nonstop sequence of “Crickets,” “Dino Baby,” and “I-Man.” The songs touched on the depths of the group’s early work, 2006’s Rocket 3 sandwiched the newer number “Dino Baby” with 1998’s Uncivilized Area inclusion.

Returning for the latter half of the concert, the band sought their reentry on “Little Betty Boop,” featuring a tease of the Dead’s “West LA Fadeaway.” The second set’s initial movement morphed into Bisco’s 2025 debut “Under Ur Spell.” Taking stock of their 30-year history, the band pulled through with the Brownstein-penned “42” next, which entered their catalog in 2003.

After a high-energy second set, the group delivered their encore: a rare placement of “Vassillios,” which had not emerged in this position since April 5, 2009, ending a 715-show gap since its last finale arrival. Instead of ending there, the Disco Biscuits returned to the first set-featured “Crickets,” creating an arch between spaced out arrivals of the 2006 debut.

Disco Biscuits’ next live show is tonight, June 5, 2025, at the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte, N.C. Tickets remain on sale.
