Today, Eggy announced that bassist Mike Goodman will take a break from touring to prioritize his mental health. While Goodman steps away for an unspecified period, the rapidly rising jam quartet will continue its summer touring as a trio. The band disclosed the temporary lineup change in a post to its social channels addressed to the “Eggy family.”

“Since the beginning, we’ve been vocal about the importance of mental health and open, supportive conversations,” the group detailed in a collective statement. “Today, we have to put our professional priorities aside to support our brother and bandmate, Mike.

“We’ll be performing as a trio for the run of dates with moe. as Mike will be taking time to focus on his mental health,” the message continues. “This was a very difficult decision to make, but our love and care for Mike far surpasses all else. We know how much you all care for Mike, and we ask that you keep him in your thoughts while respecting his privacy.”

Eggy will return to the stage tonight, August 5, for a date supporting moe. at Lexington, Ky.’s The Burl Outdoors. The band will continue through six further dates with moe.’s Midwest leg through August 15, and they’ll perform sets at Yuba. Wis.’s People Fest and Rochester, N.Y.’s Hoochenanny Whiskey & Music Festival on their few days off. The next engagement on their 2025 live itinerary is a September 10 spot at Las Vegas’ Bender Jamboree; the group has not suggested that Goodman’s absence will continue into their fall tour calendar.

Eggy expanded their message to their fans with a note on the importance of seeking support when facing mental health issues, referring followers to Backline and Mental Health America as valuable resources for listeners in need. “We are incredibly lucky to have a community as close knit as ours,” the band wrote in closing. “If you or anyone else you know is struggling, please know you don’t have to do this alone.”
