Elliott Peck Drops New EP ‘In The Pines,’ Celebrates at Sweetwater Music Hall with Guest Reed Mathis

Elliott Peck, the singer-songwriter known for her role in Midnight North, celebrated the release of her new EP, In The Pines, at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, Calif., on Friday, Dec. 8. The night was billed to include friends, such as Jason Crosby, Dan Lebowitz, Grahame Lesh, Nathan Graham, Burt Lewis, Natalie Cressman, Ross Eusto and unbilled guest and Bay Area favorite, Reed Mathis.

The concert arrived in support of the musician’s solo release, which features four tracks that pull in a dreamy-lean to evoke a thoughtful pairing for morning listens. According to Peck’s Instagram post describing the set, she referred to it as “a pause from the fast pace of everyday life.” Included on the set are “Row the River,” “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind,” “In the Pines,” and “In The Sand.” 

Peck shared more information about the new collection via Facebook, including background on the track “Row the River,” writing, “[it] is a song I began developing during one of the first waves of the pandemic. I had written the first verse & chorus & tapped one of my favorite songwriters, Cris Jacobs to help me bring the song to life. His lyrical & pre-chorus addition truly elevated the song & with Grahame Lesh’s help arranging, the song evolved into this completed version!”

She continued, “The track features Burt Lewis on bass guitar, Sean Nelson on drums, Grahame Lesh on guitar & background vocals, Danny Eisenberg on keys, Adam Bowers on pedal steel. It was recorded & mixed at Sun Machine Recording in Novato, CA by Ryan McCaffrey! I can’t wait to hear what you think.”
