EXCLUSIVE: Open Door Management Rebrands as Immortal Music Group
Open Door Management has officially rebranded as Immortal Music Group (IMG), The Music Network can exclusively reveal.
This new chapter for the company represents its “commitment to building lasting impact through artistry, innovation, and purpose.”
Chris O’Brien and Josh Smith, who began the venture in 2019, comment: “Relaunching our company to Immortal Music Group is an incredibly humbling moment. We absolutely adore all the artists we work with and the brand-new additions to our growing family.
“We couldn’t be more excited for the future and to be working alongside an incredible team behind the scenes to continue building our artists’ careers.”
Alongside the rebrand, IMG has also announced new additions to both its artist roster and management team.
In Hearts Wake (Australia) and Novelists (France) bolster the company’s global roster, joining the likes of Make Them Suffer, Northlane, Yours Truly, and Belle Haven, while Brendon Padjasek (Canada) expands its producer management division.
Jack Bergin has been unveiled as Head of Creative, bringing a decade of experience and creativity as the frontman of Void of Vision. In addition to his work with IMG, Bergin also hosts triple j’s flagship heavy music program CORE.
Kate Lawrence, meanwhile, joins IMG as Marketing Manager, bringing eight years of expertise leading marketing and artist strategy across global record labels UNFD, Domestic La La, and more.
“With a background in strategic marketing, product management, and artist development, Kate brings a sharp creative vision and a proven ability to build meaningful, long-term connections between artists and audiences,” the press release states.
“Immortal Music Group embodies the legacy we strive to create with our artists — one that champions creativity, authenticity, and longevity,” the press release adds. “Together, we’re shaping a future where music and culture are truly immortal.”
The Music Network covered the launch of Open Door Management in 2019.
“We felt that the power needed to be handed back to artists and give them more control over their careers.” O’Brien and Smith said in a joint statement at the time. “We want to create an environment where they are part of the decision-making process across all facets. This is their livelihoods and we are merely the guardians which seems to have struck a chord already which is really exciting.”
