FANGZ Announce Debut Album ‘Shui’ & Girthiest Ever National Tour

Sydney/Eora’s favourite punk lunatics FANGZ have just dropped the motherload – announcing the imminent arrival of their debut album along with the biggest national headline tour of their careers to cheers it (however, unlike previous tours, this one will not be undertaken in the space of 24 hours which is probably for the best).

The name of the foursome’s first ever long-player is in keeping with their rich tradition of record title punmanship, dubbed simply Shui (think about it). The disc is due to make contact with our eardrums on Friday, 4th July via FANGZ’s freshly inked deal with Impressed Recording, and we’ve today received our first cut of it in the form of ‘Anne Marie’, a hardcore-meets-hair metal headbanger with a lot of wholesome vibes at its heart.

“‘Anne Marie’ is a heartfelt tribute to my sister, Leigh-Anne Marie — a constant source of strength, support, and unconditional love,” frontman Josh Coittreau explains of the track.

“The song reflects on moments of struggle, gratitude, and personal growth, honouring the one person who never gave up, even when times were hardest. It’s a message of appreciation for her unwavering belief and a reminder to keep going and never stop doing what you love.”

Meanwhile, FANGZ’s girthy national headline tour will go down across July, making pitstops stops in Meanjin/Brisbane, Tarndayna/Adelaide, Boorloo/Perth, Naarm/Melbourne, Eora/Sydney, Ngunnawal/Canberra, Dharawal/Wollongong, Mulubinba/Newcastle, Yugambeh/Gold Coast and Gubbi Gubbi/Caloundra.

The Fang-tastic announcement (soz) comes hot on the heels of an outrageously stacked 2024 for the Sydney band, who somehow managed to complete a full Australian East Coast tour in 24 hours, launch their own curated travelling festival ‘FANGZstock‘, create their own hot sauce ‘Fang us Some Sauce’, and crack the Guinness world record for the most hard-boiled eggs eaten in one sitting by front man Josh Cottreau (143 eggs in three minutes and ten seconds FYI).
