Field & Stream Music Fest 2025 has been called off, with organizers citing “circumstances beyond our control” as the cause of the event’s second-consecutive cancellation.

The disappointing news surfaced on the festival’s website and Instagram page; the relevant X account looks to have been deleted. Originally expected to take place in Winnsboro, South Carolina, in October, Field & Stream Music Fest had booked talent including Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to name just a few.

Even with the strong lineup and sponsorship deals with brands including Yuengling, however, the happening has once again been shelved.

“Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control,” organizers wrote, “Field & Stream Music Fest has been canceled. The refund process will commence immediately and will cover all Field & Stream purchases tied to your order, including tickets, upgrades, camping, parking, add-ons, taxes, and fees.”

(Though this to-the-point text doesn’t dive into the reasons behind the cancellation, Saving Country Music identified “low ticket sales” as the culprit.)

These refunds are expected to go out via mailed checks “to the name and address on file.” Customers who have changed addresses since purchasing passes, organizers explained in different words, should contact support (info@fsmf.com) at once.

On top of receiving their money back, passholders will be enrolled in the namesake magazine’s rewards plan, which offers, among other things, a $15 merch credit, the cancellation announcement page shows.

Speaking of the core Field & Stream magazine, a music-festival expansion certainly seemed like a good idea given the publication’s country roots and high-profile stakeholders. Chief among the latter are the aforementioned Church and Morgan Wallen.

But as tracked in detail by DMN Pro, more than a few festivals were canceled, postponed, or otherwise failed to take place last year. And the far-from-ideal trend has carried on in 2025 despite certain event giants’ record financials; prominent players such as Coachella have recorded softer sales as well.

Furthermore, country festivals in particular have fallen on hard times. Besides Field & Stream Music Fest, Faster Horses Music Festival and Country Roads Music Festival nixed their 2025 installments – though Country Roads has underscored plans to mount a 2026 comeback.
