Ice Spice unveils “Big Guy,” an original track featured in Paramount and Nickelodeon’s animated film, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.
Ice Spice has revealed an original track, “Big Guy,” featured in Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies’ anticipated animated film, The SpongeBob Movie: The Search for SquarePants, set for release in theaters on December 19. The song arrives alongside an official video and the reveal of a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl collaboration with renowned Japanese graphic artist Verdy.
“Being part of the SpongeBob soundtrack is such a full-circle moment for me. It’s crazy to see my music in a movie that’s been part of so many people’s childhoods, including mine,” says Ice Spice, who also lends her voice to one of the film’s characters in her first-ever voice cameo.
“Big Guy” made its global broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, and across MTV’s global network of channels, as well as on the Paramount Times Square billboards.
The track follows “Baddie Baddie,” which was accompanied by a video that featured some of Ice Spice’s standout moments during this year’s Paris Fashion Week. “Baddie Baddie” served as her first solo release since her Y2K!: I’m Just a Girl (Deluxe) album. The original debut release of Y2K! was released in July 2024 to rave reviews and came stacked with hits like “Gimmie a Light” and “Think U The Shit (Fart).”
Having contributed to the Barbie film soundtrack with “Barbie World,” and making her film debut earlier this year in Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, starring Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky, Ice Spice is further cementing herself as a dynamic voice in entertainment.
Her breakout began with “Munch (Feelin’ U),” a track that quickly became a hit and earned Ice Spice her first RIAA-certified Gold plaque before amassing nearly 120 million Spotify streams. After releasing the song and its follow-up, the aptly named “Bikini Bottom,” Ice signed a deal with Capitol Records and 10k Projects. From there, she launched “In Ha Mood” and “Gangsta Boo,” both of which landed on her debut EP, Like..?.
