Genesis Owusu Announces Initimate 2025 Sydney And Melbourne Shows

Get ready to enter the next chapter of Genesis Owusu’s ever-evolving sonic multiverse — but this time, he’s keeping things close, cozy, and straight from the soul.

The multi-ARIA Award-winning visionary and genre-blurring powerhouse has announced two intimate, in-the-round live residencies this September in Eora/Sydney and Naarm/Melbourne, giving fans a rare and up-close sneak peek at new material from his forthcoming (and still very hush-hush) album.

Genesis Owusu – ‘Get Inspired’

Dubbed “Redstar Wu’s Neighbourhood Jams”, the shows will see Genny and his electric live four-piece take over Sydney Opera House’s Studio on September 19th & 20th, before heading to The Night Cat in Naarm on September 25th & 26th.

“I’ve been missing seeing you guys. My community!” the STRUGGLER and Smiling With No Teeth artist shared. “Sometimes the more people there are, the more anonymous we can become, so let’s keep it intimate for now… Me, you and my band. Give you a first experience of this new album!”

Joining him for the ride are fellow sonic shapeshifters Shady Nasty, who’ll be supporting all dates with their own brand of experimental hip-hop weirdness and magic.

Since reshaping the Australian music landscape with his explosive 2021 debut Smiling With No Teeth, Owusu has stacked accolades like gold plaques, ARIA Awards (seven and counting), and critical love from all corners of the globe. His follow-up, STRUGGLER, cemented him as one of the most daring artists of our time.
