George Porter Jr., Cyril Neville, Ivan Neville, Deacon John and Stanton Moore Among Artists to Honor Art Neville and Eddie Bo Tonight at Tipitina’s

A New Orleans tradition will continue this evening at Tipitina’s. On the night prior to Thanksgiving, a number of local musicians will once again gather to honor their own and raise money for the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic. This is the seventh such Thanksgiving Eve show, with prior installments offering nods to Irma Thomas, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Fats Domino and Huey “Piano” Smith, Professor Longhair and Earl King.

Tonight’s music will be devoted to two New Orleans keyboard players: Art Neville and Eddie Bo. The Neville segment will focus on the singles he released for Specialty Records. Art’s longtime bandmate George Porter Jr., will serve as the band leader, a role he has taken in prior years.

The musicians set to honor Neville and Bo include: Cyril Neville, Ivan Neville, Deacon John, Stanton Moore, Jon Cleary, Ian Neville, Tony Hall, Jelly Joseph, River Eckert, Marilyn Barbarin and Amelia Neville. The core backing group will feature, among others, David Torkanowsky, Kyle Roussel, Chris Adkins, Terrence Houston, Tony Dagradi, Brad Walker and Tracy Griffin.
