Turntables, also known as record players, typically require a specific type of connection to a speaker system, which is a pair of RCA audio outputs. Many speakers, especially those built for use with modern entertainment systems, do not have RCA inputs but rather accept only digital optical or HDMI ARC connections. There are workarounds, such as using RCA-to-3.5mm or RCA-to-bluetooth adapters, but they can introduce interference and compromise sound quality. The best way to connect a turntable to a speaker system is by finding a pair of speakers that have RCA inputs. Many vintage speaker pairs will have RCA inputs, and there are some new speaker models that still offer them as well. Alternatively, a receiver or an amplifier that has RCA outputs could be used to connect the turntable to a speaker system that lacks RCA inputs.
