DJs typically use WAV files for their performances. The reason is that WAV files are uncompressed audio files, meaning they retain their high-quality sound even when edited or mixed with other tracks. On the other hand, MP3 is a compressed file format that loses some data during compression to reduce the file size. This could lead to a deterioration in sound quality when used for professional DJing. However, for personal use, many DJs might use both WAV and MP3 files.
