In terms of sound reproduction, there are three main types of receivers:

    1. Integrated Receivers: These are the most basic type of receiver. They have a built-in preamp and amplifier, so you just need to connect your speakers directly to them.

    2. Preamp/Tuner Combos: These receivers do not have a built-in amplifier. You’ll need to connect them to an external amplifier. They usually have better equalizers and more audio controls compared to integrated receivers.

    3. A/V Receivers: These are the most advanced type of receiver. They have a built-in preamp, amplifier, and a tuner. They also have multiple audio and video inputs and outputs, so you can connect various devices to them. They usually support surround sound audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
