EDM, or Electronic Dance Music, is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres produced for nightclubs, raves, and dance parties. Some characteristic features of EDM music include:
1. High Energy: EDM is typically upbeat and high-energy, meant to keep people dancing.
2. Electronic Instruments: EDM almost exclusively uses electronic instruments and synthesizers to create its sounds.
3. Repetitive: Many EDM tracks have a repeated loop of beats and melodies which build up and break down throughout the song, often called the “drop”.
4. Sampling: EDM producers often sample other songs or sounds, looping them and modifying them with effects.
5. Software Production: Most EDM is produced using digital audio workstation (DAW) software, allowing for a high degree of control over the sound and the ability to create complex, multi- layered tracks.
