Giorgio Moroder is often referred to as the “Grandfather of EDM” or Electronic Dance Music. This is due to his significant contributions to the genre, including his work on the track “Love to Love You Baby” by Donna Summer, which is often cited as a foundational piece of EDM. Moroder is also known for his work on the soundtrack for the film “Midnight Express,” which earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Score.
