Blues music became popular through the efforts of many artists, but some of the most influential include Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, and Howlin’ Wolf. These musicians and others in the 1940s through the 1960s took the blues from a regional sound to a national sensation, which then had a significant impact on rock music as well.
