Mixers do not have amplifiers built into them. A mixer is an electronic device used to combine multiple audio signals into one, or to change the level, timbre and/or volume of the individual input signals. An amplifier, on the other hand, is used to increase the power of a signal, and it is usually a separate unit that comes after the mixer in a sound system. Some mixing consoles may include built-in amplifiers, but a standalone mixer does not.
