A PA connector, also known as a PAC plate or simply a plate connector, is a type of coaxial cable connector. It is typically used for high-power UHF and microwave communications equipment. The name “PA” stands for “pleated axial”. The contact between the male and female connectors in a PA connector is made along the edge of the plate, and the iris around the contact edge can be opened and closed to adjust the level of the insertion force needed for the mating process.
