Insomnium Premiere New Music Video For “Stained In Red”

A music video for “Stained In Red,” the latest release from Finnish melodic death metal band Insomnium, has been unveiled to the public, coinciding with the release of the band’s “Songs Of The Dusk” EP. The video for the song was directed by the Dor Brothers and features the use of AI technology.

Guitarist Ville Friman shared his thoughts on the track:

“‘Stained In Red‘ was written during the pandemic as an antidote to lighter, acoustic-orientated stuff we were coming up with. After the more mellow ‘Argent Moon – EP‘, I wanted to write something more aggressive and heavier. Some influences from Opeth and Gojira can possibly be heard on this one, as these bands were on heavy rotation on my playlist at that time.”

For those who participated in the deluxe 2-CD artbook edition of the band’s “Anno 1696” album, these tracks, including “Songs Of The Dusk,” should be familiar, as the EP was previously exclusive to that edition. Apart from its digital release, it is also accessible as a digipak CD and a limited edition LP.
