Kendrick Lamar Announces New 2025 Australian Shows With Doechii

Kendrick Lamar has further extended the Australian leg of his Grand National world tour, with two new shows added in Sydney and Melbourne respectively. Both shows will take place a day after the originally-announced shows, which will mark Lamar’s first headlining stadium shows in the country. After previously announcing that longtime friend and collaborator ScHoolboy Q will open those shows, the newly-announced second shows will feature fellow American rapper Doechii as support.

Lamar, Q and Doechii are all featured on this year’s Spilt Milk line-up, which was originally announced back in May. For Lamar, who is headlining, Spilt Milk marks both his first Australian festival dates in eight years and his first shows locally since December 2022. Q, meanwhile, is returning to Australia for the first time in over six years. He was last in Australia circa October 2019, where he performed on that year’s Listen Out line-up alongside the likes of Denzel Curry, Doja Cat, Diplo and JPEGMAFIA. Doechii, meanwhile, will be making her Australian debut this December.

Kendrick Lamar – ‘Luther’

All three acts are touring in support of recent projects. For Lamar, the Grand National tour comes in support of his sixth studio album GNX, which was released back in November 2024. The album was a global success, topping the charts in 15 different countries upon release – including Australia. Q, meanwhile, released his own sixth album Blue Lips in March 2024. The album reached number 20 on the ARIA Australian Hip Hop/R&B Albums chart, as well as number 13 on the Billboard 200.

Doechii, meanwhile, broke through late last year with her now-Grammy Award-winning mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal. She parlayed into chart-topping success with the Gotye-sampling single ‘Anxiety’, which was originally a bootleg released on YouTube back in November 2019 but was re-recorded for the official single release in March 2025. The song went to number one in 15 countries – again including Australia – and has been certified Platinum in France and Portugal.

A pre-sale for the newly-announced headlining dates will today (Thursday, August 8th) at staggered times: 12pm AEST for Sydney, and 1pm AEST for Melbourne. General sale will then follow on Friday, August 9th at 1pm AEST for Melbourne and 2pm AEST for Sydney.
