LCD Soundsystem kicked off their 20-night run at Brooklyn Steel last night with a plethora of rarities, and bust-outs including three tracks that hadn’t been played live in over a decade.

The show began with a taped recording of the 1978 single “The Electrician” by The Walker Brothers and rolled into a debut cover of Spacemen 3’s “Big City (Everybody I Know Can Be Found Here)”— a fitting tune for a hometown return.

Fan favorites “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House,” “Call The Police” and “Oh Baby” graced the setlist, as well as “You Want A Hit” off 2010s This Is Happening album.

James Murphy notably labeled the show as “the longest soundcheck, in front of the most people ever” following technical difficulties that evoked laughter from the singer, songwriter and producer during “Tonite” and “Dance Yrself Clean.”

The evening wrapped with a cover of the Joy Division’s “No Love Lost” before rolling into a four-song encore which included “Thrills” last played on March 28, 2011, followed by “Dance Yrself Clean,” “New York, I Love You but You’re Bringing Me Down” and ending with “All My Friends.”

LCD Soundsystem will once again take the stage tonight. A brief holiday break will follow before the band returns to their residency at Brooklyn Steel on Nov. 29.
