LISTEN: The Amity Affliction’s Devastatingly Bold New Track ‘Give Up The Ghost’

Another emotional metalcore masterclass.

The Amity Affliction have shared a new track, and it appears to be one they didn’t expect to write.

It’s called ‘Give Up The Ghost’ and possesses all of the crushing metalcore grit and stark melodies that always inhabit the band’s music, but this track appeared at the end of a session rather than being the reason for the session.

Let vocalist Joel Birch explain:

“It turns out everything is faster and yet we have the same level of attention to detail we’ve always had on our records” says singer Joel Birch. 

“The lyrics were already written, and Ahren had a chorus melody on another demo that worked for this song so it all came together quickly which was cool. Banging out a song on a whim in a day isn’t something we’ve done before, so it felt pretty good.”

And the result of that spontaneous process is another notch in the band’s musical belt. Here we go:
