Lollapalooza’s 2025 edition drew crowds to Chicago’s Grant Park that matched the festival’s pre-pandemic records. Local estimates from organizers state that about 115,000 people attended each of the four days.

Cleanup for the massive festival started early Monday morning, with workers clearing trash and beginning restoration efforts in Grant Park. In previous years, similar post-festival cleanups have topped $400,000. The work requires resodding, mulch installation, watering, and re-planting to restore Grant Park to its condition after four days of heavy use.

The City of Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications released preliminary statistics for the 2025 edition. There were 12 arrests, 0 citations or tickets, and 42 ambulance transports across all four days. The city says these figures are on par with previous years.

Each day brought marquee acts to the main stage, with no shortage of show-stopping moments. Sabrina Carpenter closed the T-Mobile main stage with hits from her album Short n’ Sweet and new selections from her latest album, Man’s Best Friend.

In line with the best festival traditions, Carpenter delivered a surprise the crowd will be talking about for years: she brought out the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire for a joyous mini-set, featuring their iconic tracks “Let’s Groove” and “September.” The collaboration fused eras and genres, with Rolling Stone reporting, “Let’s just let loose, right? Let’s groove,” as Carpenter joined Philip Bailey and crew for a dance-heavy, horn-filled spectacle that united fans of new and old.

Meanwhile, across the park, New York’s A$AP Rocky delivered a performance as memorable for its theatrics as its hits. He arrived via helicopter, immediately setting a wild tone for a show that saw the rapper command the Bud Light stage with his trademark bravado. His set included anthemic tracks and drew a massive crowd, all while leveraging festival-sized showmanship right down to his grand entrance.
