A timestamp of a strange and confusing time.
Back at the start of 2020, when the world was stuck in their homes as the pandemic began, artists worked away in whatever way they could.
Machine Gun Kelly was one such artist, producing a series of tracks from his front room.
The songs have previously only ever been available on YouTube, but now, two years later, some have made their way across to streaming services.
There’s ‘roll the windows up’, a smoking anthem inspired by a piano beat courtesy of Mike Posner, ‘prety toxic revolver’ which samples Shawn Mendes and ‘in these walls’ which takes its hook from PVRIS’ ‘My House’.
They are raw, real and demonstrate the talents of MGK in a way that time in the studio can’t.
